Inside the Blueberry Muesli
Our fruity blueberries are freeze-dried and fit perfectly with the fine banana slices, sweet date pieces and strawberries. Not only do they stand out in colour from the other fruits in your muesli bowl, they also turn the milk a deep blue. In Germany, the berry is so popular that in some regions during the harvest season so-called blueberry festivals are celebrated in honour. We can understand why because these small blue fruits are a real treat!
Another important component of the Blueberry Muesli is the dates, which are fruits of the date palm bearing the same name. But did you know that they are the first fruits ever grown by humans? Not surprising considering they are fairly low maintenance and grow well on nutrient-poor soil, whilst being very aromatic and wonderfully sweet in taste.
Barley flakes make up the rich muesli base. They consist of whole grains which are then rolled into flakes. In many countries, barley has been a staple food for a long time and has been known for thousands of years, but it is believed to have originated from Southeast Asia. For wholemeal lovers especially, the barley flakes in our muesli are a real treat.
Strawberries, the red gold among fruits, perfectly complement our blueberries. The freeze-dried strawberry pieces fill up with milk from the cereal bowl and taste wonderfully juicy - almost as if you had hand picked them yourself from a summer garden.
