Ice tea, ice tea, ice tea – we cannot get enough!

Our best tip for warm summer days: homemade ice tea! No matter what time of the day, we love ice tea with breakfast, after lunch or as a refreshment in the afternoon.

But how do I make really tasty ice tea? Actually it´s very easy and there´s (almost) no way to have it go wrong. First of all you can choose your favourite tea as a base. We recommend using loose biological tea-leaves for a particularly better flavour. In addition, it is of-course helpful having some ice cubes in the freezer. To personalize the tea you can use every fruit or spice you want – set you creativity free.

Also, did you know that ice tea was “invented” by a fortunate coincidence? In 1904 Richard Blechynden wanted to show the guests of a trade fair how tasty and good his black tea was. But the heat of the summer was a big problem, so he decided to cool down his tea with some metal tubes. And it was a big success – people loved this iced tea!

While there are so many different variations of ice tea we have collected some of our favourite recipes for you.

Peachy Ruby

There is one thing we are absolutely certain of: An icetea does not get any fruitier than this!

Just fill the hot water in a bottle with the tea mixture and put it in the fridge for at least one hour. Put some slices of a peach in the glass and add ice cubes – done!

Herbal Lemonade

Actually this drink is not an ice tea but at least just as tasty as the other recipes.

Replace half of the tea water with mineral water and add some fresh mint leaves and pieces of lemon. Put it in the fridge and enjoy!

Sencha On Ice

Mango and Orange remind us of our last trip to spain.

Infuse the tea leaves with hot water and place it in the fridge for at least one hour. Add ice cubes, pieces of a mango and orange and taste the summer!
